Search for swimming pool construction companies in Dubai and you’ll find dozens that describe themselves the same way: bespoke, turnkey, luxury, decades of experience. Read five websites and you could swap the logos. The companies behind them are not interchangeable, and the differences only show up when something goes wrong in month three or year two.
A ranked list mostly tells you who markets best. This guide covers three things that help more: the kinds of company you’ll meet, what a proper quote contains, and the questions that get honest answers out of a salesperson.
Kinds of swimming pool construction companies, and one to watch for
Most firms fall into one of four groups, though plenty straddle two.
Pool specialists build the shell, the plant room and the finish, and that’s the job. They tend to be strong on engineering. The deck, planting and lighting around the pool usually go to someone else, which leaves two contractors sharing one garden and one schedule.
Landscape-led companies start from the garden and treat the pool as one line in a bigger package. That suits a full outdoor overhaul. It suits a pool-only project less well, because the pool crew may be a subcontractor you never meet.
Design-build firms take the pool, the landscape and sometimes the interior fit-out under one contract. One party answers for the whole site. The trade-off is that you’re committing to a single company’s taste and pace. We sit in this group, so weigh what we say accordingly.
Maintenance-first companies build pools too, but their strength is servicing existing ones. They’re often the right call for repairs and equipment swaps, and a less obvious fit for a ground-up villa build.
The one to watch for is the broker: a company that sells the job and subcontracts all of it. That isn’t automatically bad, but you should know who actually pours the shell. Ask who will be on site on a Tuesday in week five.

What a proper quote contains
Compare quotes line by line, not by total. Two numbers that look AED 30,000 apart often describe different pools. Check each quote for:
- Approvals. The NOC from your master developer (Emaar, Nakheel, Damac and so on), Dubai Municipality or Trakhees sign-off, and the DEWA connection. Are they in the price, or are they your job?
- The shell. Reinforced concrete or shotcrete engineered to a structural drawing, or a prefabricated fiberglass shell. They age differently in this climate, which is the subject of why some owners swap fiberglass for concrete.
- Waterproofing. The membrane named, not just “waterproofing included”.
- Equipment. Pump, filtration, chlorination and any heating or cooling, listed by brand and size.
- Excavation and soil removal. Especially in older communities with mature gardens and tight access.
- Everything around the pool. Deck, tiling, lighting and planting: in or out?
- Warranty. Structure and equipment covered separately, with durations in writing.
- Payment terms. Tied to completed stages, not calendar dates.
Approvals are where quotes diverge most. On a straightforward villa the paperwork clears in two to four weeks when one party manages all three bodies at once, and takes longer when it lands on you. We go through that process in more detail in our guide to choosing a pool construction company.
Price and timeline, realistically
Our cost guide puts a villa pool in Dubai at roughly AED 90,000 to 250,000 and up, depending on size, shell, finishes and features. A standard skimmer pool sits near the bottom of that range. Overflow and infinity-edge designs push toward the top and past it. A quote well under the band isn’t proof of a bad company, but it is a reason to ask what was left out.
Build time is usually 6 to 12 weeks, with design and approvals taking the first two to four. The stage-by-stage timeline shows where the variation comes from. A company promising to finish in far less should be asked how, because curing, waterproofing tests and inspections don’t compress easily.

Questions that sort companies quickly
These rarely get a polished answer unless the company has done the work.
- Who is physically on site each day, and do they work for you or for a subcontractor?
- Can I see a pool you finished in the last year, in my community or one like it?
- Who pulls the permits, and what happens to the schedule if the developer rejects the drawings?
- If the pool leaks in year two, who comes, how fast, and is it covered?
- What went wrong on your last project, and what did you do about it?
Start with the last one. Every contractor has had a late delivery or a rejected drawing. The ones worth hiring can describe theirs without flinching.
Where Exterior Space fits
Exterior Space Landscape Works is a design-build company based in Al Karama. We build pools alongside landscape and interior work, so a villa renovation doesn’t need three contractors on the same site. Every pool starts with a site visit and a 3D concept, permits and approvals are handled by us rather than by you, and each finished pool carries a workmanship warranty. We also publish our price ranges instead of asking you to call for a number. Our Google rating is 4.7 across more than 70 reviews.

Recent villa pools include 81 Saheel 1 in Arabian Ranches, Villa C19 and a District 4 villa in Jumeirah Village Triangle, and a Jumeirah Park District 8 project. If you’re managing the build from abroad, the remote project process covers 3D renders, staged photo updates and virtual site audits.
